Vase in a jar-form with a heavy, everted rim, ornamented on the side with a catfish swimming over the soft, muddy floor of a pond, rippled by the currents of the water. Of cast bronze, the catfish’s eyes inlaid in gold. Signed on the reverse with a chiseled signature by the artist: Shinzui, and with a kakihan. Late Meiji – Taishō era, circa 1900 – 1920. link
