Art is a journey into the most unknown thing of all - oneself. Nobody knows his own frontiers… I don’t think I’d ever want to take a road if I knew where it led.

Louis Kahan

hintersatz:

Amazing French violinist Ginette Neveu playing “Mélodie” from Christoph Willibald Gluck’s opera “Orfeo ed Euridice”.

Ginette Neveu was 19 when this was recorded (1938) - She died on 28 October 1949, when she was only 30 years old. Her plane crashed into a mountain. It has been said that Ginette Neveu’s body was found still clutching her Stradivarius in her arms.

This piece is quite touching i have to say.
